December Parties are the perfect time to dial your makeup look a notch, but what if you're not the false lashes/glitter type? I have good news - neither is makeup artist Isamaya Ffrench. The all-round cool girl, is a rising talent in the makeup world, creating show-stopping backstage looks and wonderfully edgy editorials. When it comes to her own look, she prefers to have a raw feel to her makeup - creating a striking but not sugar-sweet finish.
My go-to night-time look is a smoky eye and bronzer, with a bit of sculpting thrown in - so we're not quite aligned in this area. I challenged Isamaya and myself to show me her take on party makeup…and I learnt quite a few tricks:
My first thought was "Urgh - I will look like a clown." Not so with a gorgeous deep plum colour which brings out gold flecks in your eyes. And it's kind of softer that black. I added this to my makeup kit right away!

The idea of wearing pink shadow is so far removed from my comfort zone. But I was pleasantly surprised at the result. My tip to wearing it is to anchor it with a dark liner in your lash-roots.

I love Isamaya's trick for finding your perfect hue - I had never though of holding up lipsticks to my face - but it works!! And her tip for this season is to keep the red matte - which also makes it easier to wear!

I love this: to make your lips look plumper use a highlighter pen around the outside edge of your lips, it looks super natural and fresh.
