The 71 year old actor, of Who Framed Roger Rabbit and Mermaids fame, passed away this week. In tribute, his daughter Rose, posted the life lessons he taught her online. Read them and feel warm inside.
Football's anti-racism campaign
When a spectator threw a banana at Barcelona's defender Daniel Alves - a common racist taunt in football - viewers were shocked. But in an act of defiance, Alves picked it up and calmly ate it in front of the crowd. After the match, his team-mate Neymar da Silva Santos Júnior showed his support by posting a photo of himself eating a banana with the hashtag #weareallmonkeys. Since then, the campaign has gone viral, with other footballers uniting to say no to racism.
Sasha the Labrador
The heroic sniffer dog, who was killed on duty in Afghanistan, will be awarded the Dickin Medal (the animal equivalent of the Victoria Cross). Sasha's role was to sniff out hidden weapons and bombs - she successfully sniffed out 15 'finds', saving many lives, before she was killed on patrol along with her handler Lance Corporal Kenneth Rowe. Rowe's mother said, "We are so proud of him and he would be so proud that Sasha's bravery is being recognised."
Insta-dumpers
Apparently it's a thing now: announcing 'it's over' to your (former) other half by cropping them out of all your Instagram photos.
