A line-up of cool jazz, indie, pop and electronic artists in London this summer courtesy of Harry Styles? Yes please! This year, Styles has been named as the guest curator of the artist-led music festival, Meltdown, which takes place in London's Southbank Centre each summer.
His line-up features over 20 artists spanning multiple genres, styles and nationalities — and as you may have expected, they're each impossibly cool and innovative musicians. With Styles set to also perform an intimate headlining gig at the Southbank Centre, it's looking like a great summer.
Amongst his line-up is the mesmermising saxophonist Kamasi Washington, who is performing not once but twice, with an afternoon tribute to jazz legends and an evening show featuring songs from his album Fearless Movement. Also set to play are LA rock group Warpaint, UK drummer Yussef Dayes, singer Orlando Weeks who fronts the Maccabees, and Devonté Hynes (also known as Blood Orange) performing his classical music.
“Music is my life; every artist involved in this year’s Meltdown festival means so much to me, both as a fan, and a musician," said Styles of his line-up. "It’s a true honour to host legends who have paved the way for the generations that follow them, as well as new acts that have inspired me to push my creative boundaries.”
Here is the full line-up and how you can get tickets.
The rapper has been denied entry to the UK.
