Halle Berry's flippy bob at the Oscars 2025 looks like a smile in haircut form

We've been waiting for her to give in to the flipped-out trend for as long as she's been wearing her hair shorter.

It's basically never news when Halle Berry looks phenomenal because that's literally every moment of every day. It's technically also not news that Halle Berry currently has a bob — she's been sporting it for a while. But she hasn't worn her bob the way she wore it to the 2025 Oscars, and that, my friends, counts as premium beauty news.

Halle arrived on the Academy Awards red carpet in one of the biggest trends of the night: a sparkling, silvery gown. The strapless Christian Siriano dress — which looks like a shattered mirror pieced together to create a sartorial masterpiece — competes with some of Halle's best Oscar getups, as does her beauty look.

Makeup artist Hung Vanngo used Chanel favourites in clever ways to create a Bond-girl-inspired glow. “For a more cohesive makeup look, I added a touch of Chanel Joues Contraste Intense Cream-to-Powder Blush in Grenat Profond onto both the cheeks and the crease of the eyelids,” he explained

But we were especially charmed by Halle's bob, which was so flippy that it looked as though it was smiling at us. Stylist David Stanwell gave the Oscar winner a deep side part, slicking it down for an almost-wet look. With about an inch left, he flipped it outward and upward for a formal-meets-playful finish. As for the deets “ @Olaplex No.7 bonding oil came through and served for this chic look for Halle Berry… the hair is hairing,” her stylist Dave explained on a picture posted to his Instagram.

It seems that, inevitably, all celebrity bob-havers will eventually give into the flip, and we're so glad Halle Berry decided to do it on one of the biggest nights of the year.
