The Gucci show took place this afternoon and it was beautifully romantic. The show invitation already hinted that the brand was feeling starry-eyed; the address was printed on a Map of Tendre - a geography entirely based around the theme of love.
The label's creative director, Alessandro Michele, set the bar high with his debut for the brand last season; his luxe take on Margot Tenenbaum geek chic has since been spotted on many a fashion editor.

But our expectations were satisfied adeptly; it was pretty, but done with imagination and originality. We predict waiting list frenzies and sorry-looking credit card bills, but for now, here's the looks we'll be copying next summer:

Good god, the choices - we love the delicate rosettes style, but statement sequinned versions. We'll all be needing a ruffle collar.
We never knew we wanted to look like an elegant, loved-up pirate until now.
The menswear geometric print suits (only yesterday worn by Harry Styles) scored high, as did the louche pyjama-inspired silk variety.
They're in in a big, glittery way. We're going to start sitting close to the TV for the next few months, with the hope of ruining our vision for next spring.
Tough, but with a beautifully decadent edge.
No longer something people wear to make others think they're French (everyone knows that no one in France actually wears a beret), Gucci actually revived the beret for AW 2015, and they're here to stay for SS 16.
