Major models, bold beauty and products aplenty? Think again. Last seasons luxe, ladylike Gucci girl is gone, and with new fashion designer Alessandro Michele, comes a whole new beauty aesthetic. "This season each girl is individual. There's not one character," said make-up legend Pat McGrath." It's minimalist and simple. I'm using a touch of foundation and Gucci Luminous Perfecting Concealer where needed." Gone are the statement eyes and lips - the only other tools Pat used were a slick of brown mascara, balm on lips and Gucci Luxe Finishing Powder across the centre of the face. Not what you'd expect, right?
...And the hair? More change! "This is a huge change for the fashion house," said backstage regular Paul Hanlon. "Look around the room, not one model has the same hairstyle." Paul was telling the truth! We saw beanies, berets, bobby pins, ponytails, faux fringes and wait for it… two blonde girls even had pink dip-dyed hair. Paul explained, "the Italian, Gucci-esque bombshells are now more California, street-style gangs - think Courtney Love."
