Nominations for the 74th Golden Globe Awards have been announced and La La Land, Moonlight and Lion have topped the film categories, while The People vs. OJ Simpson dominates the TV lists.
The nominations were revealed by Don Cheadle, Laura Dern, and Anna Kendrick live from the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles, where the award ceremony will take place on 9 January 2017.
La La Land has received seven nominations including Best Picture, Best Actress, Best Actor and Best Director.
Tom Ford and Mel Gibson are also in the running for Best Director, while Amy Adams, Jessica Chastain, Isabelle Huppert, Ruth Negga and Natalie Portman will compete for Best Actress In A Motion Picture Drama and Casey Affleck, Joel Edgerton, Andrew Garfield, Viggo Mortensen and Denzel Washington will battle it out for Best Actor in that category.
Lily Colins, who is nominated for her first ever Golden Globe for starring in Warren Beatty’s Rules Don’t Apply shared her reaction on Instagram by posting a picture of herself receiving the news, captured by her mother.
“The moment your mom captures you being nominated for your first Golden Globe,” Collins wrote on Instagram next to the photo. “Priceless. I still can’t breathe. Beyond honored, thankful, and proud. This can’t be real!…” she wrote in the caption.

Ryan Reynolds has also taken to Instagram to thank the Golden Globes for nominating Deadpool for Best Motion picture (Musical or Comedy) sharing an image of his famous character alongside the caption: “Thank you, Golden Globes! As we speak, the entire Deadpool team is engaged in a grotesque, early morning tickle-fight.”

The ceremony will be presented by Saturday Night Live host Jimmy Fallon for the first time and will honour eight-time Golden Globe winner Meryl Streep with the Cecil B. DeMille Award.
