Last night Riccardo Tisci staged a New York Fashion week spectacle on the banks of the Hudson River.

Combining performance art curated by Marina Abramovic, soaring vocals and a lineup of top models including Kendall Jenner, Joan Smalls and Mariacarla Boscono, the show celebrated the opening of the label's new store on Madison Avenue and Tisci's 10-year tenure at the Parisian powerhouse. Aside from a stellar FROW including Kim Kardashian and Kanye West (obvs), Nicki Minaj and Julia Roberts, the collection was a hauntingly beautiful showcase of Tisci's signatures across menswear, womenswear and haute couture.

Here we break down the top 5 looks:

When Joan Smalls stepped out on to the huge catwalk structure created from recycled materials, the audience forget the epic sunset burning in the background. The collection, focused on the universal values of peace, humility, freedom, spirituality and love and drew inspiration from the bride and groom in black and white. Joan's voluminous black gown accessorised with heavy black cuffs and merlot lip gloss was quintessential Tisci.

Tisci's mastery of couture is fabled and the middle section of the collection paid homage to his atelier's skills and his technical prowess. This tasselled gown and intricate lace mask is a case in point - jaw-dropping but still measured.

There was a lot of wearablity in this collection, with straight to wardrobe tailoring and sexy eveningwear in the mix. Some of the best looks blended suiting with ostrich feathers making the beautifully cut jackets and trousers all that more special.

A beautiful play on the tuxedo, this monochrome ensemble perfectly highlights Tisci's androgynous side. We'd also love to waft around in the white silk coat - the perfect transitional season option.

Nightie dressing at its finest, Tisci interplay of black and white lace is peerless and while the cuffed boots might have presented the models with some problems ( Victoria's Secret model Candice Swanepoel ended up on her knees at one point), they add edge to the Tisci's femininity.
