Transforming our homes into idyllic, relaxing and happiness-inducing sanctuaries became of utmost importance during the pandemic. Still, a desire to make our homes places we actually want to spend time in will never die.
That said, amidst a cost-of-living crisis, mortgage, rent and gas bills are expensive enough – without considering the cost of a new sofa/sofa bed/coffee table/dressing table from a stylish online furniture store on top. Of course, if you're looking for something of impeccable quality that will stand the test of time, it's going to have a premium price tag. But while you can't exactly sit on your garden furniture set forever, it is worth waiting for a discount to come along, so your money stretches that little bit further.

What are the best Black Friday furniture deals?
There are quite a few, it turns out. Department stores like John Lewis, M&S, La Redoute and Very.co.uk are all running big furniture promotions – and we mean BIG. Elsewhere, brands like Wayfair and Amara also have some good furniture deals on, so you won’t have to look hard to find yourself a bargain. And that’s before we’ve even mentioned the Amazon Black Friday sale.

John Lewis furniture deals
John Lewis has already started its Black Friday sale, and there are hundreds of pieces of furniture discounted by up to 20%. Of course, the department store will likely be adding to its offering as we edge closer to Black Friday itself, but if you just can't wait, there are plenty of desk chairs, console tables, armchairs and TV stands for your perusal.
Our top tip? Use the John Lewis sale as a chance to pick up trend-led, luxury furniture by Swoon (they're stocked on John Lewis and usually pretty expensive), as well as affordable staples from the John Lewis ANYDAY collection. While they might skimp on price, they certainly don't skimp on style credentials – case in point: this bestselling Saga Grey armchair which is about to become your cosiest reading spot.
La Redoute furniture deals
Last year, La Redoute Black Friday offered up to 50% off everything on-site, allowing you to invest in hard-working furniture which exudes French chic for less. This year, the online furniture store is doing the exact same thing, with an up-to-50%-off sale already live on-site. We're using it as an opportunity to invest in a Rattan bed frame or these stylish Rattan dining chairs.
Soho Home furniture deals
Soho Home reigns supreme as the most high-end furniture store of them all, stocking design-led pieces inspired by the furnishings inside their iconic properties (think: Soho Farmhouse, The Ned or Soho House). Seriously: everything from their bed frames, footstools, corner sofas, side tables, high-gloss chest of draws and chaises are dripping in opulence.
While Soho Home doesn't promote a Black Friday furniture sale as such, they do have a sale section live on-site right now which will have you cosying up for the winter season feeling very smug. It offers 30% off selected living room furniture – from coffee tables to TV units – as well as dining room furniture, lighting and textiles.
M&S furniture deals
While M&S hasn’t officially run any Black Friday sales in the past for sustainability reasons, the retailer does tend to offer discounts during the Cyber Monday weekend. Right now, you can get 10% off when you buy a bed and mattress together and 10% off when you buy a dining table and two sets of dining chairs.
Cox & Cox furniture deals
Cox & Cox is running both Grey and Black Friday events this year, serving up plenty of opportunity to invest in a few pieces from their range of calming, muted furniture. Think: mid-century styles and neutral hues aplenty. Grey Friday runs until 16th November, and you'll need the below codes to shop. After that, buckle up for Black Friday, which will see stock prices reduced by up to 70% between the 18th and 28th of November.

Barker & Stonehouse furniture deals
With eleven physical in the UK and a rapidly-growing online presence, Barker & Stonehouse is one of the best British, family-owned online furniture stores. It has been around since the end of the Second World War, so they know a thing or two about timeless furniture that's built to last.
While we can't yet share official details of the Barker & Stonehouse Black Friday sale, we can point you in the direction of their Clearance section, which serves up to 50% off overstocked and end-of-line items. Forget what you thought you knew: it's still a total treasure trove of beautifully-crafted pieces.
Amazon furniture deals
The Amazon Black Friday sale is set to be big news this year. While it might not be the first place you’d think to look for stylish furniture, don’t rule it out. If you're open to dedicating a bit of time to sifting through the pieces of lesser quality, there are some genuinely stylish pieces of furniture on site which can be delivered the very next day.

Wayfair furniture deals
Wayfair has a seemingly endless range of furniture across countless categories, and as the brains behind the iconic Way Day sale, they know a thing or two about promotions that'll save you money. The Wayfair early access Black Friday sale has already begun, with discounts to be had on desks and chairs for a chic home office, bar stools for Christmas cocktail soirées, dining tables, dining chairs and sideboards and cabinets. There's also a “Top Picks” section which showcases pieces of the highest quality from independent sellers.
Bensons for Beds furniture deals
Last year, Bensons for Beds offered up to 50% off across ottoman beds, headboards, mattresses, solid wood chests of drawers and other pieces of bedroom furniture, making them the place to go if you’re looking to completely transform the home decor of your sleeping space. This year, they've launched their biggest Black Friday furniture sale ever, with up to 50% off an even bigger range of products.
Amara furniture deals
It may not be a Black Friday discount per se, but Amara currently has over 300 pieces of furniture in their furniture deals section on site, with savings to be had across dining, lighting, bedroom and home accessories. Plenty of opportunity to find something truly unique – that you won't also spot in the living rooms of 17 other friends.

What is Black Friday?
Founded in America, Black Friday is the name given to the day following Thanksgiving which sees many retailers offer big discounts across their entire line of stock. Black Friday and Cyber Monday are now pretty big here in the UK, too, and most of our favourite brands get involved. It's the perfect opportunity to pick up the best Christmas gifts for less – from the best gifts for her to gifts for boyfriends and Christmas gifts for dads.
When is Black Friday?
This year, Black Friday falls on Friday 25 November, with Cyber Monday falling on the following Monday: 28th. You don’t have to wait until Black Friday itself though, as some sites have started early Black Friday deals already.
