Florence Pugh never disappoints when it comes to serving up new hair lewks – case in point: her chin-grazing bob has been having its moment lately. The Midsommar actor doesn't let her short hair length limit her hairstyles at all, so she's experimented with fun, abstract updos, like the high ponytail and faux baby bangs she wore to the 2023 Oscars. On March 20, for the New York screening of her upcoming film "A Good Person," the star's bob was slicked into a twisted updo that looks like a bow.
The star was spotted with her short updo and black-and-white gown at the New York screening. Her highlighted hair was slicked back into a high updo. From the front, this hairstyle looks like a messy, undone bun that was twisted halfway and secured in place. A tuft of blonde hair defied gravity and stuck straight up. She has flirted with faux bangs before, but for this event, she opted for a side-swept fringe. The front topmost section of hair was swooped to slightly cover her forehead. The rest of the hair formed a squiggle on the side of her head.
Once you spot the look from the back and side, you can see the true work of art. Her hair was finessed into a big bow at the crown of her head, and the updo was secured with a ribbon tied into a bow right underneath the base of the high hairstyle.
Pugh hasn't yet dedicated a grid post to this look, but she did share an update following the event. She posted a selfie of herself in bed with disheveled hair and a soft smile and noted in the caption that the event went well. She also shared that she hadn't bothered to wash out any of the hairspray used to keep the updo in place. "Haven't washed my hair spray out. Gunna be a crispy sleep," the caption read.
Florence Pugh has been an exemplar of how short hair can be styled into gravity-defying, abstract updos. It's hard to believe that her hairstylist is able to create styles like this hair bow with her bob, but we look forward to the next look she debuts.
