Euphoria season 3 is finally upon us. Picking up five years after the events of 2022's season 2, the new season of the show will reveal what happened to the students of East Highland High School after graduation — Zendaya's Rue Bennett, Hunter Schafer's Jules Vaughn, Jacob Elordi's Nate Jacobs, Sydney Sweeney's Cassie Howard. And according to Euphoria creator Sam Levinson, Fezco, played by Angus Cloud who died in 2023, will also feature in the new season.

“I loved Angus very deeply and I fought very hard to keep him clean while he was here," Levinson told The Hollywood Reporter. "I think when he passed away, it made me sort of step back and go what is the story I want to tell, what is it I want to say? What matters in life? And if I was going to do another season I wanted to make sure that it spoke to kind of a larger idea about meaning and purpose and who we are. It made me want to kind of tackle the idea of faith and belief in something greater than ourselves.”

At the end of season 2, Fezco's fate was left unclear. In a dramatic S.W.A.T. raid, he was accidentally shot by Javon Walton's Ashtray. In the final moments of show, however, Fezco's body was nowhere to be seenin the apartment.

After this cliffhanger, Levinson chose to keep Fezco's character alive for season 3 — although his arc has not yet been revealed.

“I couldn’t keep him alive in real life but I could keep his character alive in the show,” Levinson said. “I kept him alive and the character has got a great arc. I think he’d be very proud of it.”

Cloud died at the age of 25 on 31 July after what was later ruled to be an accidental overdose. “It is with the heaviest heart that we had to say goodbye to an incredible human today. As an artist, a friend, a brother and a son, Angus was special to all of us in so many ways," his family said in a statement at the time. “Last week he buried his father and intensely struggled with this loss. Angus is now reunited with his dad, who was his best friend."

In a statement, Levinson said: "There was no one quite like Angus. He was too special, too talented and way too young to leave us so soon. He also struggled, like many of us, with addiction and depression.

"I hope he knew how many hearts he touched. I loved him. I always will. Rest in peace and God Bless his family."
