Some fabulous news: Emma Roberts is engaged! The American Horror Story star announced that she’s betrothed to her actor boyfriend Cody John on July 15, posting a smiling picture where her ring is front and centre.
“putting this here before my mom tells everyone ❤️,” Roberts captioned the pic, a cheeky reference to her mother’s habit of spilling news about her daughter.
The actor’s mother, Kelly Cunningham, was the first to announce both Roberts’ pregnancy and to post her grandson’s face. Roberts shares her son, Rhodes, with her ex-boyfriend, actor Garrett Hedlund.

The pair have been together since August 2022 and met through friends, according to E News. John is also an actor and has a handful of credits, including stints on popular shows like The Rookie and NCIS. His Instagram page is mostly dedicated to Roberts.
She was spotted filming American Horror Story with the waist-length look.
Glad they got to announce this news on their own time without being scooped by tabloids…or family members!
“I was keeping my pregnancy pretty low-key, but unfortunately, my mother has Instagram. Which, mothers and Instagram, it’s a bad combination,” Roberts told Jimmy Kimmel of the pregnancy reveal snafu, for which Roberts briefly blocked her mom.
Apparently, a tabloid had leaked the news, and Cunningham was so excited she started thanking fans for their well-wishes, which just confirmed the story.
“It was a disaster, and I found it all out on a plane, so I couldn’t get to her. I couldn’t call her or attack her,” the mom of one recalled. “It was endless. My friends were sending me screen grabs. It was unbelievable. When I said to her, ‘Mom, you revealed my pregnancy.’ She goes, ‘Emma, you announced it!’ And I said, ‘No I didn’t. That was a tabloid.’ She goes, ‘Oh I didn’t…. That wasn’t clear.’”
Well, it’s clear now!
