Hair today, gone tomorrow…or next week…or whenever you get around to it, if ever. As Drew Barrymore knows, a razor is a totally optional part of grooming, and there's nothing wrong with going months (or longer) between shaves.

“Joke's on you, house alarm!” the Never Been Kissed actor said triumphantly after her home security system interrupted her bathtub time. Clad only in a towel, Barrymore revealed in an Instagram video that she was “finally shaving after three months.” The video, posted on April 10, also inadvertently revealed that for such a famous movie star and talk show host, she has a super normal bathroom! She did eventually get her shaving done, though it was “under duress.”

Drew Barrymore is not the only star who could take it or leave it when it comes to body hair removal. When Kathryn Hahn visited her show, Barrymore proudly showed off her shaved calf, prompting Hahn to reveal her own not-so-shaved legs. “I definitely have not [shaved]!” she yelled, laughing. Gesturing to her armpits, the Wandavision star added, “This is a whole different ball game. But no one's seeing these right now.”

Bonding over their infrequent shaving schedules, both women shared that it's a low-priority task. “It's like a movie makeover,” said Barrymore of the before-and-after difference. For Hahn, she said “it's so liberating” to not think about it all the time.

Barrymore also got super real about what's important in life and how “self-care” that's just repackaged beauty standards…ain't it. “My legs aren't shaven. I try to clip my nails down because I don't like dirt under them. I try to work out three times a week with girlfriends," she told InStyle in March. ”Self-care for me is having my kids' stuff organised to get out the door in the morning, lined up. That's self-care. It doesn't seem like it, but it is, because this fucking bubble bath approach is so irritating. That doesn't bring me self-care or joy. Having my kids' stuff in a system, lined up, their shoes and their jackets and their backpacks, that makes me feel like I won the morning."

Still weirdly taboo, female body hair is having something of a moment lately. For a recent shoot with Bustle, Rachel McAdams showed off her own underarm hair and specifically asked that it not be edited out of the final images. She also revealed the shaving advice she'd give her younger self: “Always have shaving cream…And then if you want to stop shaving again one day, that's okay too.”
