Dolce & Gabbana staged its spring/summer 2016 show yesterday, giving us our dream holiday wardrobe (well it would be had we lives that were conducive to tiara-style headbands and ornate, theatrical embroidery).
It was a celebration of the designers' native Italy, and was as celebratory and joyful as is tradition for the brand. Models took selfies while on the catwalk; in fact, the fashion press were given a pre-show warning that the models would want to take photos with them.
The Italian tourism board couldn't have been more thrilled with the postcard-perfect view of Italy provided, with the country's most famous sites, from Rome's Coliseum to Venice's gondolas, adorning skirts and dresses. In a world where we could afford the label's price tags, these are the six pieces we'll be adding to our dream holiday wardrobe wishlist:
We rate lemons more highly than it comes to other fruits popular with fashion designers - less saccharine and girly than strawberries (in fact they're gloriously bitter), and definitely more refreshing.
Sexy, but in a coquettish, understated way.
Embrace your inner Pat Butcher - oversized earrings are back in a big way for next summer.
We do love a fashion gimmick every now again, and if we're going to look like a tourist, we'd rather do the Dolce & Gabbana way.
Pompoms have already seen a resurgence over recent months, and they're here to stay for the new season. Colourful, playful and deliciously impractical, we're into them.
The perfect dress to waft in during the summer months - colourful, pretty and loose.
