In the new gender-flipped adaptation, 52-year-old British actress Rachel will take on the part of the twin gynaecologists who push the boundaries of medical ethics.

Amazon Studios have also recently released the first teaser trailer for the upcoming series, which has become a talking point on social media for excited viewers. So what else do you need to know about the new series Dead Ringers? Read ahead to find out more!

What is the plot of Dead Ringers?

A modern take on David Cronenberg's 1988 thriller, Dead Ringers is described as a "thrilling tale about ambition, self-interest, and the manipulation of power".

Rachel takes on the role of both identical twin doctors Elliot and Beverly Mantle, who "share everything: drugs, lovers, and an unapologetic desire to do whatever it takes - including pushing the boundaries of medical ethics - in an effort to challenge antiquated practices and bring women's health care to the forefront." While Elliot and Beverly have good intentions, the consequences of their actions will play out throughout the series, and the deterioration of their sisterly relationship will be explored.
