Who would have thought that Claire Danes would rule the Met Gala 2016? But at last year's event, the Homeland actress did just that, in one of the most captivating and memorable outfits ever seen at the Met Museum. And we're still not over it.
On the red carpet, her blue Zac Posen dress was gorgeous, a classic Cinderella frock that could have popped out of a live action Disney film but nothing that screamed the Gala's theme, Manus x Machina: Fashion in an Age of Technology.

How on earth did it work? Science, my friend. And the rather prosaic truth of batteries. The fiber optic organza was specially woven in France, and is lit up by 30 mini battery packs weaved throughout.
"I went through a sequence of stages throughout the process of draping this gown, playing with motion and structure to capture the emotional engineering," Posen said in a statement. The gown is hollow underneath with no tulle - holding its own structure."
