Sorry Ryanair, it's been a blast (or rather hasn't, ever), but from now on we'll be flying Chanel Airlines.

Today Karl Lagerfeld, master of the catwalk spectacle, staged his latest show in a makeshift airport, complete with baggage check-in, a departures board (which listed locations of the label's past show locations) and trolleys. As usual, the star guests were plentiful - Cara Delevingne and girlfriend St Vincent sat front row, as did mother and daughter duo Lily Rose Depp and Vanessa Paradis.

Kendall Jenner was enlisted as the obligatory model of the moment. Delevingne didn't make a catwalk turn (she's an actress now), but did join Lagerfeld and his godson Hudson Kroenig for a finale hug.

Let's get to the clothes. It was a lesson in how to travel in style - true airport fashion goals. Here are the key details we fell most in love with:

In tweed if you will. So we can march about pretending to be Katharine Hepburn.

Who knew they could look so chic? We too would like to look like a stylish lady version of Just William. Wear yours back to front, but prepare to mercilessly ridiculed by your friends.

It looks so relaxed, so comfortable, but it's actually adorned with pearls. There's something incredibly decadent about investing in such a low-key item from a brand such as Chanel.

A sleek nod to femininity, a shiny Buzz Lightyear-style headband will be an easy nod to copy next summer.

We're not picky, the jumper or trousers will suffice.

Attention-seeking, kind of pointless but completely perfect - we want a pair of sandals encrusted with lights more than is rational. And ideal for all those late-night dips in hotel pools that we indulge into every summer (not).

Ruffles has become quite the thing on the international catwalks this season, but it looks particularly alluring under the hand of Lagerfeld. Less 80s, more breezy prettiness.

The perfect combination of dressy and casual. Our version may take the form of cubic zirconia depending on finances.

Another big trend for spring/summer 2016, prepare to add checks to your wardrobe sharpish.
