The glitterati descended on the Chateau Marmont yesterday for the Council of Fashion Designers of America event in LA.
Mrs Beckham was at her best in a black design from her own collection, perfecting her signature pose in a flippy skirt and shades.
Diane Kruger and Emmy Rossum were in-tow, wearing two of our favourite looks of the day, by Cushnie et Ochs and Oscar de la Renta, respectively. While Rachel Bilson opted for a tiered chiffon dress with clashing florals and day-glo heels, which has convinced us that autumn has an entirely different definition in California (see also: Summer the Sequel).
But the biggest scoop of the day belonged to Anna and her new BFF. Word has been circulating this week that Wintour has been luring Girls star/creator (and all around awesome overachiever) Lena Dunham onto the cover of American Vogue, and it seems the friendship is thriving. Dunham, who is growing out her rough-cut pixie 'do, wore a camel-coloured leather frock, whilst Wintour stuck to a fit-and-flare monochrome number.
