You’ve heard of the art of method dressing. Now, let me introduce to you red carpet method dressing, courtesy of Blake Lively and Gigi Hadid. The best friend duo took subtle cosplaying to the next level by attending the red carpet for the Deadpool & Wolverine movie premiere on July 22, 2024, in New York City, channeling the titular roles portrayed by Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman.
It has the cutest meaning behind it.
If we learned anything from the Barbie red carpet premieres, it is that committing to the bit is all part of the makings of a good red carpet moment. So seeing Lively and Hadid wear coordinating outfits with Deadpool and Wolverine, of course, was a W for the internet.
Blake Lively went all out with her look, resembling her husband’s costume in the movie franchise. The Gossip Girl alum wore a custom long-sleeved, off-the-shoulder red bodysuit by Versace with black lace across the entire look. It was a fun and fashionable nod to Reynold’s character. Her hair was pulled back into a high ponytail, and she chose several pieces of jewelry to accessorize with.
Though Jackman and Hadid are not an IRL couple like Reynolds and Lively (Hadid is currently dating Bradley Cooper), the model was still inspired by Wolverine's yellow X-Men uniform for her premiere look. She wore a custom leather Miu Miu spring-summer 2024 RTW yellow top with a matching pleated skirt. She paired the look with a yellow purse from the same brand. She finished off the look with black pumps, a tan belt, and a side-parted blonde bob.

Later in the evening Lively and Hadid were back outside again continuing in their cosplay theme. Lively switched into a red minidress while Hadid wore a yellow coat.
We've seen this duo stomping around New York City with the rest of their girl gang, including Taylor Swift and Sophie Turner, so it’s no surprise the pair walked the red carpet hand-in-hand, but we have to admit we did not expect this level of coordination.
