One thing about Billie Eilish, we can always trust her to throw a curveball beauty look into the mix. She has a track record for her chameleon-like approach, yoyo-ing between a grunge and goth aesthetic, to full glamour – like her Marilyn Monroe moment at the 2021 Met Gala. True to form, after starting off the year with a punky bright red root pop hair colour, she took the Oscars red carpet as an opportunity to shift gears entirely.
The What Was I Made For singer debuted the most voluminous blow dry we've ever seen from her. Created by hair stylist, Benjamin Mohapi (aka Salon Benjamin), her espresso brunette hair had serious oomph, complete with rounded, face-framing layers that we reckon required a full set of velcro hair rollers.
And while a blow-out at the Oscars isn't exactly ground-breaking, given Billie's made flat roots a signature, we needed a double-take for her most recent hair departure.

Paired with a collared shirt, black blazer, tweed Chanel skirt, Mary Jane buckled shoes and a mini houndstooth flap bag, the whole look gave us pure Blair Waldorf vibes.
Then, later in the evening as she performed her Barbie anthem with brother Finneas, Billie added in a preppy pink alice band and inverted her earlier look by swapping in a tweed jacket and black pencil skirt, alongside a pink neck bow.
To complete the look, her makeup artist, Emily Cheng, created a tonal peach makeup look, using products from Chanel. She matched Billie's delicate peachy cheeks with a glossy peach lip combo. Meanwhile a skinny black liner added a tiny edge and the mid-brown shadow lining Billie's bottom lashes gave a small nod to the singer's usually moodier makeup.
So even while trying out a whole new preppy style, the look had Billie Eilish dna woven all the way through.
