It would take something really special for us to want to wear knitwear in this glorious 24-degree heat, and yet Bella Freud has created the only jumper we'd merrily swap our summer dress for. Let's all just take a moment to revel in its simple, irreverent beauty.
The English Boy knit is part of her new collection with Fred Perry, her fourth collaboration with the brand. Freud's designs are known for their tomboyish simplicity, so it comes as no surprise that she should want to cover a cashmere jumper with the words "English boy".
Other favourites from the collection include a preppy red kilt and a blue polo shirt with an embroidered star motif. The collaboration also means you can buy a Bella Freud piece at a lower price point. Although still not high street cheap, the cashmere jumper comes in at £125 - which is more doable, say, than Freud's mainline knitwear which retail at nearly £300.
