And Just Like That… season 3 is set to return in 2025. The buzzed-about Sex and the City spin-off follows three of the four central SATC ladies as they navigate middle age: Charlotte as a mum returning to work, Miranda quitting drinking and discovering her queerness, and Carrie losing the love of her life to a Peloton and getting back on the dating train. (Samantha’s living in Europe).
And now, a trailer has finally dropped for the new season – and we have QUESTIONS. First of all, will Carrie and Aidan officially make a go of things? How will Miranda end up navigating her queer single life? Will we ever see Samantha again? And will Charlotte continue on her journey of acceptance of her children's choices?
In the trailer, we hear Carrie tell her pals that “it's complicated with Aidan, but I'm trying to figure it out”. Will she date around? At a Warner Bros presentation last year, SJP said herself that the third season, for Carrie, is “a time to evolve and commit more to being the relevant person she wants to be”, adding "Aidan plays a somewhat significant part of that".
The actor is returning for season two of And Just Like That.

Carrie actor Sarah Jessica Parker opened up about what to expect from season 3, including the return of some male characters and some new faces as well.
"Carrie [Bradshaw] has a wonderful storyline. The story takes some big swings and we fold some big ideas into those big swings. Some of the male characters are back, and there are some new men," she told Variety, also sharing that the seven-month shoot required “crazy long hours”.
“It feels really big, really robust and exciting," she added. "There are so many interesting stories with additional characters that rightfully find a real home,”
SJP also shared an Instagram post at the beginning of production in May of this year, suggesting that their seven-month shoot must just be wrapping up around now. Eek.
Instagram content
In a statement confirming the return of the series earlier this year, Max's head of content, Sarah Aubrey, said, “We are delighted to share that since the launch of season two, And Just Like That ranks as the number one Max Original overall, and is the most-watched returning Max Original to date.”
The show's executive producer and showrunner Michael Patrick King added “We cannot wait for audiences to see where season three will take our favourite New Yorkers.” And as for the creator himself? “We are thrilled to spend more time in the Sex and the City universe telling new stories about the lives of these relatable and aspirational characters played by these amazing actors."
In the meantime, here’s everything we know about the upcoming And Just Like That… season 3.
I couldn't help but wonder… what brought Samantha back to our screens?

And Just Like That… season 3 trailer
We learned a lot from the first trailer drop for season 3. Carrie is pivoting from non-fiction writing to fiction – what will her novel be about? She received a blank postcard from Aidan… Is that romantic or promising in any way? We'll have to stay tuned to find out. Miranda questions whether she should get involved with a “work contact”, and Charlotte navigates motherhood when your children are discovering their coming-of-age adult identities, as Rock performs on stage and Lily has a crush. Seema looks like she's still on a quest for love, and Lisa Todd Wexley admits to a work crush. Spicy.
What happened in season 2?
Ahead of the season two finale, Carrie's back with Aidan, but being in a long-distance relationship is causing some issues with his son; Miranda’s getting a divorce and getting over Che; and Charlotte’s working at Victor Garber’s gallery. As for their new friends, Seema has worn some outfits and is hooking up with a diva director, LTW just had a miscarriage and Nya is also getting a divorce.
And Just Like That… season 3 cast
We have to imagine the core And Just Like That… cast — Sarah Jessica Parker, Kristin Davis, Cynthia Nixon, Nicole Ari Parker, Karen Pittman, and Sarita Chaudry — will return, but have Che and Aidan (John Corbett) served their narrative purposes?
Well, according to a report from the Daily Mail, Sara Ramirez who plays Che Diaz in season 2 was dropped from the series. The report came one day after Ramirez made an Instagram post in which they indicated that their polarising character would not return for And Just Like That… season 3.
In the statements shared to their social media, Ramirez suggested that their time on the show was over because “casting directors and agents are making black lists of actors and workers who post anything in support of Palestinians and Gaza to ensure they will not work again.”
The actor added “While they lift up some of their own clients who have spoken up against this genocide, they are firing and letting others who have smaller platforms go.”
Ramirez and their on-screen ex-partner Cynthia Nixon (Miranda Hobbes) have both been speaking out against the war since it began.
Other sources disputed Ramirez's claims, saying: “Sara was not fired because they support Palestine and the cease fire. Sara was fired because Che brought nothing to the show anymore. They were on the chopping block since last season. After Che split with Miranda, the character really held no value anymore and fans found them annoying. The storyline as a struggling comedian was a waste of airtime and Sara knew it.”
We also know that Nya Wallace – Miranda's law school professor and friend, played by Karen Pittman – won't be returning either due to the actor's scheduling conflicts with The Morning Show and Netflix series Forever.
A network spokesperson said: “It has been a joy to have Karen Pittman play the smart and stunning professor Nya Wallace. As we have thoroughly enjoyed working with this dynamic actress, so too have others. Due to her commitments to two other streamer series, it has become apparent that filming three shows at once isn’t possible. Due to the production realities, we are disappointed to announce that scheduling conflicts will not allow us to continue with this character as part of season three. Karen and Nya will be missed, and her Max family and fans will all be cheering her on in her other endeavours.”
A few female comedians are also set to join the series, with Rosie O'Donnell confirming she's on board and SNL's Cheri Oteri spotted on set.
And Just Like That… season 3 plot speculation
While very few details have been revealed around the future of And Just Like That… season 3, Che's departure from the series brings several things into question. Namely, where will Miranda's storyline go next, and could her Skipper reference last season suggest that an old ex will be returning for the third season of the series?
Meanwhile, the conclusion of season 2 saw Carrie leaving her apartment and reinvesting in her ex-fiancé Aidan Shaw, so will the pair finally get back together once and for all? The trailer has left things very much up in the air as to whether they'll get a happily ever after…
Following Kim Cattrall's cameo in the season two finale, can we expect Samantha to be on board for season 3? Stranger things have happened on the show, so we remain hopeful despite Cattrall telling Today a cameo is “as far as I'll go”.
In July, on-set pictures of the AJLT… gang at a funeral also got us asking who may have kicked the bucket.
"He's not somebody you can be casual with," Parker tells Glamour.

And Just Like That… season 3 release date
The trailer has confirmed that the series will be back with season 3 on 29 May, with episodes dropping weekly until the finale on 14 August.
A version of this feature originally appeared on GLAMOUR US.
